German telc exam

Do you need official proof of your German language skills? 

Then acquire your German telc-certificate in our licensed telc-examination center in Braunschweig. To register, select the exam you go for and fill out the form. Registration deadline is 14 days before the exam date. Registrations received after the 14-day period are considered to be past the deadline. Thus, the registration will be postponed to the next possible examination date. A refund cannot be made in this case.

The examination evaluation usually takes 4 to 6 weeks. Unfortunately, telc gGmbH no longer offers quick corrections (express evaluation) since January 1st, 2021.

We offer two options for obtaining a Telc certificate: through our language courses or directly by taking the exam. This allows individuals to choose the option that best suits their needs, whether they have completed our courses or simply require official confirmation of their German language proficiency.

When will I receive the invitation for my exam appointment?

You will receive the invitation by email no later than one week before the exam date.

I have already passed one part of the exam. Can I take only the other part?

Yes, this is possible provided that your telc exam result is not older than one year.

Can I pay later than 14 days before the exam date?

No. Registration including payment must be completed no later than 14 days before the exam date.

How can I pay for the exam?

You can pay the exam fee via our website or on site at the school by card or in cash.

When will I receive my certificate?

The results are usually announced within 3 to 5 weeks. You will receive your result by email.

Do you offer the DTZ exam?

No, we do not offer the DTZ exam. We only offer telc B1 General.

Is there an express evaluation?

No, telc does not offer express or fast-track evaluation.

Can I take the exam without attending a language course?

Yes, this is possible. You do not need to attend a course at our institute to take the exam.

Can I cancel or reschedule my exam?

Rescheduling is possible up to 30 days before the exam date. In this case, a rescheduling fee of €30 will be charged.

Cancellation is also possible up to 30 days before the exam date. A processing fee of €50 will apply.

After this deadline, rescheduling or cancellation is no longer possible. Cancellations must be submitted in writing.

How long is the certificate valid?

The telc certificate is valid indefinitely.

What documents do I need for registration?

No documents are required for registration. On the exam day, you must present a valid ID card or passport.

Can I take the Telc exam without completing a language course?

Yes, you can directly register for the B1, B2, and C1 Telc exams without completing our language courses. Telc exams are not conducted for levels A2 and below.

Is the Telc exam recognized internationally?

Yes, Telc certificates are widely recognized and accepted in many countries as proof of German language proficiency.

Can I retake the Telc exam if I don't pass?

Yes, you have the option to retake the Telc exam if you do not achieve the desired level of proficiency. Please refer to our website for specific information regarding retakes.

Is it possible to pass the Telc exam online?

No, you can only take the exam if you are present at our examination center. Your identity must be verified by passport.
